SLA - resin printing
-
What is it?
SLA printing involves curing liquid resin using a UV light source. A digital 3D model is sliced into thin layers, and the UV light source selectively cures each layer of resin, which then fuses together to create a solid object. The result is a highly detailed, intricate 3D print.

Advantages
Unparalleled precision
Smooth surface finish
Ideal for complex and intricate designs
Suitable for prototyping high tolerance parts
-
What can we print?
Our most common use cases for SLA printing are:
Engineering prototypes
Medical models and prosthetics
Jewelry and fashion accesories
Collectibles and miniatures
Custom design and art pieces

Tech Specs
Our SLA machines have a resolution of 19 microns and boast an accuracy of +/-0.05 millimeters. Perfect if you’re looking for a snug fit.
Because the resin is cured with UV light, we do not recommend the use of SLA parts for functional applications, unless they are properly protected with an external coating (e.g. paint and clear coat).
-
Pricing
Due to the setup and part cleanup required, SLA is in general more expensive than our FDM option. But, because SLA prints parts in parallel, it takes the same amount of time to print one part as it does 6. This means that it gets cheaper the more we can get on the build plate. Ideal if you’re after many minis!
